Would anyone out there be interested in sharing their experiences of miracles performed by St Nektarios?
I am trying to compile as many miracles as I can, to submit them to St Nektarios Monastery in Aegina for consideration, for them to be published in a book.
You may wish to include your full name and country, or if you prefer, your initials and country.
Please feel free to contribute your miracle in any language - Greek, Romanian, English, Russian, etc, as I am able to get them translated.
Many thanks, and may the blessings of St Nektarios be with you all.
Love in Christ,
Nektaria
My mum was diagnosed with lymphoma on 28 March 2011 and I dropped everything in the UK and returned to Singapore to be with mum and my brother and sister.
ReplyDeleteI arrived home 29 March and further results of the diagnosis was not out till 1 April. A bone marrow test was done on 2 April and Chemotherapy was due to start on 4 April.
We were going to another hospital to see another Consultant before going back to the initial Medical Centre to start the 1st chemotherapy, when my mum was so unwell that she could hardly sit upright. I left her bedroom and prayed to St Nektarios for help.
Less than 15mins later, mum came down from her bedroom and said, ‘Let’s go and start the chemotherapy’. I said to her, ‘you’re not well, we’re not going anywhere’. She said she was feeling much better and did not want to seek the 3rd party opinion.
During the first week after her 1st chemotherapy, mum was not well at all, with white blood cell count being very low. Mum was hospitalised for 5 days and on one of those nights, when I was making a phonecall back to UK to sort out some work issues, my sister called out to me:’ Mum’s asking for you’.
I ran to the room and asked if she was ok. She mumbled something which I could not understand. I asked that she repeated what she said, and out came the words: ‘Pray, Pray, Pray’.
I sat next to mum on her hospital bed and prayed to St Nektarios, and applied to holy oil to mum’s tummy area, where the 2kg tumour was.
I was not brought up in a Christian, not to mention an Orthodoxy, environment. With St Nektarios’ blessings, I was baptised only in November 2010. When I heard mum asking me to pray, I knew she was asking me to pray to St Nektarios, as she knows how much I adore and love him – I kept telling her how great the Saint is.
The next morning, she said to me in front of my sister: ‘I don’t know what you did, you went round my tummy with a sharp object, twice, and I felt deep into sleep. Now I feel there’s nothing wrong with me!’
I looked up at my sis and indicated it was not me. She understood.
On 8 December 2011, my mum turned 72, and I can’t thank St Nektarios for her healing. She’s now regained her independence and confidence, and took the public transport on her own 3 weeks ago, and once again last week, to go into town.
I love you, St Nektarios, for everything you have blessed me with.
HE IS GREAT! I LOVE HIM WITH ALL MY HEART... AND I KNOW HE LOVE US AND PRAY FOR ALL WHO'S LOOKING FOR HELP. daniela_tulcea@yahoo.com ROMANIA
DeleteHi Nektaria :),
ReplyDeleteThank you for letting me know about this.
And even though I do not have a story to tell for now, I love St Nektarios and I know in my heart his miracles are ongoing :). And when it would be the time to be revealed, they will come out :).
For now, I would just send you some links about Orthodox books (from other holy fathers) traslated into English, which you might know already. If not, may you enjoy them:
http://www.uncutmountain.com/ - the first book (apparently for children, but applying for all sorts of children: small and big) is from Father Paisios wisdom

For Father Nektarios prayers...

Hello, I wished I knew your name to address you properly!
DeleteA very Happy and Blessed New Year to you!
Thank you so much for the links to some Orthodox books - I don't know any of them at all, but am now particularly interested to get hold of the book on the wisdom of Elder Paisios! I love him!
Would be interesting too, to lay my hands on the books on the website too!
I know exactly what you mean; the miracles of St Nektarios are ongoing! :)
May the blessings of St Nektarios be with you!
Best wishes,
Nektaria
Hello Nektaria, I just came across your wonderful blog and was wondering if you are still compiling miracles of St. Nektarios? If so, here is a one that, Glory to God, happened to me recently. Though some might not believe that it was a miracle, I know deep down inside of me that it was. I fell down and hurt my back one evening, It started to spasm, and I soon remembered that I had some oil from the kandili of St. Nektarios (from his church at the Greek Orthodox Monastery in Roscoe, New York), so I put a small amount on my hand and, as soon as the oil touched my skin as I was making the sign of the cross on my back, I INSTANTLY felt better. As I said, I know that others may not consider it to be a miracle, but I had strained my back from the fall, and the spasm and pain that I was feeling was 100% real. Literally, the second I put a little bit of the oil from St. Nektarios's kandili on my back, the pain disappeared and NEVER reappeared again. If I injured my back (which I did), then logically the pain should have returned soon after, but it didn't. This miracle occurred about 6 or 7 weeks ago. Take care and God bless you in your endeavours!
ReplyDeleteI'm reading a book of his life and it is so beautiful ❤❤❤ and heart breaking but also so very heart warming. His humility, innocence that comes from his pure heart, his lobe for Christ and his neighbor is so beautiful. Tears to my eyes. I have been to the monastery in Aegina once as a child and then again in 2013 and I love him. I don't know why I'm reading his book only now! It's amazing. Back to reading I go

I believe on his feast day back in 2000, he stopped my mother's cancer pain. She still passed but that type of cancer usually involves excruciating pain. Thank you St Nectarios and thank you Lord.
ReplyDeleteI also have experienced a recent miracle from St. Nectarios. I had a severe bout of allergic reactions to everything, scents, food, water. My body was going crazy reacting to everything all day long . Medications did little to help. After prayer to St Nectarios for a week or so and venerating his a holy relics and anointed, I began to tolerate more food and scents. I still struggle with water but God has blessed me to drink orange juice for now, which is a natural antihistamine. I still have issues but have noticed a drastic improvement which can only be a miracle. I was starving. Now I can eat so much better and drink orange juice. I am unworthy and not thankful enough for all done to me. God had even healed me of a serious illness and set me free from demons. Lord have mercy on me a sinner.
ReplyDeleteThank you Lord Jesus and St Nectarios. I am truly not worthy. Most Holy Theotokos save me.
